Sutcliffe Technologies is no longer trading, this site is maintaned for infomation only.

Sutcliffe Technologies was formed in response to a need of low cost smart control and monitoring systems for small intensive farming, such as mushroom farming. Drawing on a background in broadcast telemetry systems and commercial refrigeration electronics, together with computer science the systems were designed with flexibility, reliability and future enhancements in mind.

In the case of mushroom farming the fruit are fast growing and extremely sensitive to temperature and humidity, so constant monitoring and good control is a must. Each growing room was fitted with Atmel AVR based hardware actings as both the temperature and humidity controller, in addition to a monitoring node for the monitoring workstation to poll. Software on the polling station allowed stats to be gathered and graphed for each crop.
